Connect your accounting system

Point Hull at your accounting software once, so month-end stops meaning re-typing receipts.

Hull can push your customers, invoices, credit notes and payments straight into your accounting system — one Hull invoice becomes one accounting invoice. This is the one-time setup.

Before you start

You need two things from your accountant or your accounting provider: the API address for your account, and an API key with permission to create documents.

If you cannot see Accounting Sync in the menu, your academy does not have the integration switched on. That is an account-level thing, not a permission you can grant yourself.

1. Open the settings

Payments → Accounting Sync, and go to the settings.

Save settings, then Test connection.

The key is write-only. Once saved, the screen will tell you a key is stored but never show it back. That is deliberate — the key can create and delete documents in your books. Leaving the field blank when you edit settings keeps the stored key.

2. Set the cutover date

Nothing dated before your cutover date is ever pushed. Set it to the date you want your books to start being fed by Hull — usually the start of a month or a financial year.

This is what stops a first sync dumping years of history into your accounts.

3. Map your package types

Nothing can sync until each package type is mapped to a product, a revenue account and a tax code. See Map your packages to your accounts.

4. Run a preview

Before the first real sync, preview what would be sent. The preview uses exactly the same logic as the run, so what you are shown is what will go.

Check it with whoever keeps your books, once. Getting the accounts and tax codes right on day one is much cheaper than correcting a month of postings.
