Coach career ladder
What a coach has to complete to reach their next level, and how promotion happens.
The career ladder shows each coach the level they hold, what they must complete to finish it, and what comes next.

What it shows
- The level they hold now, and the criteria for that level — the things
they must complete to move on.
- Their progress against each requirement.
- The next level, so they can see where completing it leads.
Assessments are counted across a career
Assessment counts are cumulative: they carry across levels rather than resetting at each promotion, because that is how they are actually awarded. A coach who did thirty assessments as a Junior Teacher still has those thirty when they reach Teacher.
The ladder shows both the lifetime figure and what each level adds, so a coach can see the total and the step at the same time.
Promotion
Promotion happens automatically once a coach completes the criteria for the level they hold. There is no separate approval step, and the screen and the promotion both read the same list of requirements — so what a coach is shown is exactly what will be checked.
Why this matters for pay
A coach's level determines their rate. Because payroll resolves the level as at the end of the month being paid, a promotion this month does not retroactively change last month's pay, and a level dated in the future does not leak backwards.
