Settings → Appearance, owner only.
What you can set
- Primary colour — buttons, links, anything highlighted.
- Secondary colour — supporting accents.
- Background tone — the grey the pages sit on. Pick from a short list rather than a colour wheel, because a background needs to stay readable.
Colours are hex, the #3263a4 kind. Your designer has them; so does your logo file.
Where it shows up
Both apps. The staff app your team uses and the parent portal families log into pick the colours up when someone signs in, so a change reaches everyone at their next login rather than mid-click.
Leave any of them blank to go back to the Hull default.
Dark mode is each person's own choice
Separate from your brand colours, each user picks light or dark for themselves, from their own profile menu. It is not something you set for the academy, and it does not change what parents see.
Your colours work in both.
A word on legibility
The system does not stop you choosing a pale yellow on white. Two things worth doing before you save:
- Look at a screen with a lot of text — the register, or an invoice — not just the dashboard.
- Check it in dark mode too, since half your staff will be in it.
