Packages lists every package your academy has issued in a date range, with a row of tiles above it. It answers *"how did we do this month, and who did it"*.

The four types

Every package is exactly one of these. Nothing is ever in two, and everything is in one:

TypeWhat it is
Sign UpThe student's first real package. A new paying family
Top UpA renewal. Any package after the first
TrialA trial package, whatever it is called
ReferralA reward package earned by referring another family
Every trial buyer is counted, however the student was created. A student added by hand through Students → Add Student used to skip the trial pipeline entirely — no Trial List, no welcome voucher, and no conversion recorded when they signed up, which quietly under-reported Sign Up counts and consultant performance. Buying a trial package now makes the student a trial whatever route created them, and their first real purchase counts as the conversion.
This is the number owners get wrong. Until recently trials and referral rewards were counted as Top Up, because anything that was not a sign-up was read as a renewal. Over ninety days that made the renewal figure about a third too high. If you have a Top Up count written down from before, it is not comparable — the packages did not disappear, they moved to where they belong.

The button above the tiles decides what everything on the page counts.

  • All — everything. This is where the page opens.
  • Paid — sold for money. This is what the money tiles have always meant.
  • Free — trials, referral rewards, and anything comped.

The first tile renames itself to match — *Packages*, *Packages Sold*, *Free Packages* — and carries a line underneath saying what the split is, so the tile and the table can never look like they disagree.

A trial and a referral reward are free by definition. Switch to Paid and both drop out, which is usually what you want when you are looking at revenue.

Reading it for the month

Three questions, in this order:

  1. Sign Up — is new business coming in?
  2. Top Up — are the families you already have renewing?
  3. Trial against Sign Up — how many trials turned into something.

The chart beside the tiles breaks sales down by consultant, which is the figure to put next to your commission run rather than in front of the whole team.

Where the numbers do not match

The Overview Dashboard counts differently and both are right. It only counts packages sold for money, so trials and referrals were never in its figures. This page starts by showing you everything.

If a total here does not match a report elsewhere, check the date range and the Paid/Free button before checking anything else. Nine times out of ten it is one of those two.
